True witness.
Before I knew about blogging I published some articles on fb that were limited by the number of words or characters you could use. I have now reformatted them for this platform, and I am encouraged to share them now many years later, they also form part of my story and building of my character. I pray that these things are true in my life and are useful to others.
True witness
Cultivate your own relationship with God, but don’t impose it on others. You’re fortunate if your behavior and your belief are coherent. But if you’re not sure, if you notice that you are acting in ways inconsistent with what you believe—some days trying to impose your opinions on others, other days just trying to please them—then you know that you’re out of line. If the way you live isn’t consistent with what you believe, then it’s wrong.
Romans 14:22-23 MSG
The last sentence of this verse is weighty, and so true and valid, for me it clearly speaks to trying to live a credible, upright and righteous seeking life.
The damage and consequences of not living up to your witness are extreme and have dire impacts and effects on your life, I know and have been there and paid the price, very dearly and more than you are willing to pay. (The wages of sin is death; and sin is simply falling short of the mark)
We shouldn't say one thing and practice another, however it would seem to be rare and fortunate if the beliefs and the way you live are congruent.
Happy is the person who lives out what they believe. The worldly things and so called wisdom may seem attractive and are seductive, but they are a trap, and lead to death, and take you prisoner, and not freedom as they falsely promise.
The other trap we may fall for then is we may try to live by works and legalism and not by Grace, this is also not possible, we need the power and ability of the Holy Spirit, his Grace and mercy to enable us to live as witnesses for him, and we need to surround ourselves with other witnesses together in team, doing life, supporting and encouraging each other, and you CANT do it alone, we were not designed to be lone rangers (that's why God created Eve to help Adam, it was not good he was alone, we need each other, in community, that is family, church)
So we have a responsibility to live a life that honours God, his word and commands, to actively and intentionally seek his Kingdom and righteousness and be true to our life and lifestyle and beliefs in a consistent manner.
This is very difficult without God's help and grace, so be humble and submit to his authority in ALL things, don't be wise in your own eyes, love his wisdom and counsel and make yourself accountable to Godly people in team. Don't be like me and allow pride, guilt and shame, to hem you in, don't be false, or pretend you are ok, even if its embarrassing or may make you look bad in the eyes of others, (remember what's done in the dark or secret will be brought to the light) rather be quick to confess your faults and weakness to seek Godly perspective, guidance, help and wisdom or you WILL pay the price (consequences) of your bad choices.
Only the truth that you know and apply through the Son (Jesus Christ) can and will set you free, and then you are free indeed. Not to satisfy your desires but His will, plans and purposes for you.
Finally remember that nothing you do can make God love you more, nor any less, his love IS consistent ALL the time

Nice boet!👊
