Of Prophets, prophecies false or true.

I do not concider myself a Prophet, but I think I have an prophetic edge, others say that I am, but nevertheless I feel concerned enough to share my thoughts and reflections on this matter.

I specifically refer to recent and current events particularly with regard to the USA elections and subsequent events.

A few of those prophets repented of the predictions they made regarding Trump (A bit too late, egg on the face already, and damaged the authentisy of the genuine prophetic voice), others still continue to believe they are right, or perhaps to proud to admit error.

Personally I think the Republicans and Evangelical Churches are clutching at straws, and digging up hope that election fraud was committed. Who is to know with 100% certainty, but there needs to be sufficient and plenty of evidence to make that story stick.

I am not going to debate who is a false prophet or not, God will be the judge.

However I think that too many of the so called prophets or voices claiming that God revealed to them what will happen in the future, are operating outside the mandate or sphere of Gods intended authority for them to operate.  And as such have brought disrepute and damage to the Body of Christ as a whole.

I am unaware of any so called major league prophet that called the Covid19 pandemic and other events. Some have tried to in retrospect say that their utterances were of the current situation, but I have not been convinced. It is simple after the fact to retro fit and make your self look good, but God is not mocked and if they have tried, there is a judgement to follow.

My opinion is that prophets are called to a local field or sphere of influence and not really called as prophets to the nations. The prophetic voice is to local or translocal churches, and the main priority is to call the hearts of men and women back to God, and not to predict future events (politically or otherwise).

When that boundary is over stepped then God is not obligated to deliver on the words spoken.

As it is the election results are confirmed and I recall that during the Babylon exile many prophetic voices claimed that God would shorten the exile. Today many claim the result will be over turned, but it's unlikely in my view.

However Jeremiah said to settle, marry, plant gardens, build houses and to pray for the prosperity of the cities, that was Gods will at the time. I feel a bit like him at this point and say God has a plan that will unfold, we may not like or understand but we need to keep our eyes on Christ and eternity more now than ever before.

His plans (Gods) and purposes will prevail no matter who is in power. Despite the circumstances and turbulent times God is still in control.
