Life Purpose Statement (difference between purposes and goals)
Continuing the discussion on identity, an important aspect is knowing why I exist? Most of us I am sure know about goal setting, that they need to measurable and realistic in terms of time frames etc.
However what if your goals don't match your purpose, then the act of achieving those goals becomes empty and meaninglessness.
There is a huge difference in knowing what your purpose is and setting goals.
To know who I am and why do I exist gives us meaningful reasons and helps us set goals that help us achieve our purpose, it's far deeper and more fulfilling.
For a lot more on the subject I suggest reading "The Man in The Mirror " by Patrick Morley.
So as promised this is what I have recorded as my Life Purpose Statement.
Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

Identity
My identity is wrapped in "Who" I am and not in "What" I do.
I am first a Son in my father's house, born again by Grace and Faith and not works. I am a friend of God and his Christ, Jesus is my Lord, Saviour,King, and brother. I am a part of his body, built into his building, the church, with a part to play according to his plans, purposes, gifts as he wills. He is the potter and I am the clay. He has called me to be a good ambassador for his Kingdom.
For we are Godʼs handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
John 4:34
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ”
Matthew 3:3
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
